Aluminum smelting method and process introduction
There are four links in the production process of aluminum to form a complete industrial chain: aluminum ore mining - alumina production - electrolytic aluminum smelting - aluminum processing and production.

At present, the only method for industrial production of primary aluminum is the Hall-Heru aluminum electrolysis process. It was invented by Hall in the United States and Heroux in France in 1886. Hal-heru aluminum electrolysis method is an electrolyte composed of alumina as raw material and crolyte (Na3AlF6) as a flux. Under the condition of 950-970℃, the alumina in the electrolyte melt is decomposed into aluminum and oxygen by electrolysis. The aluminum is precipitated in the form of liquid phase at the carbon cathode, and the oxygen escapes in the form of carbon dioxide gas on the carbon anode.
Industrial aluminum electrolytic cell can be divided into three categories: side anode self-baking tank, upper anode self-baking tank and pre-baking anode tank. Due to the high power consumption of self-baking tank technology in the electrolytic process, and not conducive to the protection of the environment, self-baking tank technology is being gradually phased out.
